Nigeria edged out of the World Cup

Nigeria campaign in the world cup was put to an end by France on Monday round of 16 clash. The African champions couldn't hold France any longer as goal came in late in the 2nd half through promising Paul Pogba.
The second goal came in as a result of pressure from substitute Geizmann which turned Yobo into a striker for the French by scoring an own-goal.

Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi and defender Joseph Yobo has rendered their resignation for Nigeria owing to this exit. Other players like Peter Odenwengie and Vicent Enyeama would also be leaving as they hope to pave way for new Nigeria talents.

France won the match 2-0. With this result they would be facing Germany in the quarter finals
