BARCELONA TO PAY HUGE ON DEFENDER

Barcelona target Eder Alvarez Balanta has been price tagged high by River Plate vice-president Omar Salassi.

Balanta seem to have caught the eyes of many for his strength, composure and possession of the ball and the 20-year-old is believed to be a better replacement for the aging Catalan Captain Carlos Puyol.

Salassi is adamant as he isn't fully ready to let star player go without a fight and has placed a 15 million euros bid on Balanta’s head.

Catalan boss Gerardo Martino may be in search of a defender, but am not sure he would settle for a young player as the back-line needs matured and experienced players to survive bigger and tougher games clash.

Salassi confirmed that Barca hasn’t made any offer yet
