Manchester United still keen on Xabi Alonso

Manchester United has had earlier offer of 40 million pounds rejected for Real Madrid holding midfielder Xabi Alonso

The Spaniard seem unsettled at the Bernabue and Manchester United may just see this as an opportunity to make another offer for the 32-year-old.

Real Madrid is hoping to renew the contract of midfielder Samir Khedira so as to keep him at the Bernabue and not lost both players during the transfer market in January. This would pave way for Alonso's exit owing to major interest from English clubs.

Chelsea and former club Liverpool are also interested in bringing Alonso back to England

As Man United boss David Moyes hope to solve his midfield problem, he may most likely make a better offer in January
