Nigeria head coach Stephen Keshi has
decided to call back former Super Eagles captain Joseph Yobo.
Yobo and Keshi had not been in good
terms after the former declared publicly that Keshi was “disrespectful” due to his
omission in the Super Eagles squad that drew against Kenya in the World Cup qualifiers
on June 7 2013.
But, tempers seem to have calm down
as the 33-year-old defender confirms earlier this month that he is “on equal
basis now” with his boss and stressed his desire to book a seat on the plane to
Brazil for the World Cup finals.
Keshi has well confirmed the truce
and revealed that Yobo’s debut with Norwich City against Manchester City helped
in calling back the skipper.
Nigeria would face Mexico in March in a friendly that is hoped to prepare the Super Eagles for the World Cup.
