Barcelona striker Lionel Messi scored a hat trick last night against Ajax as the Spanish giant kick off its Champions league race with style

Barca hammered Ajax, 4­­-0 as Pique and Messi made the score sheet. Messi has now scored up to four hat tricks in the Champions league, with 27 also added to his career. Goals came in the 22nd, 55th, 69th and 77th minutes.
The former holder of UEFA Best Player in Europe scored a sensational free kick in the 22nd minutes, scored in the 55th minutes and completed his hat trick in the 77th minute.
This came a day just after Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo scored his hat trick.
Messi has dedicated the win to manager Gerardo Martino. The Argentina international loss his father and would be travelling home for the funeral
