NIGERIA vs MEXICO: Top three Eaglets to watchout out for

In few hours from now, Nigeria (popularly known as the Golden Eaglets) would be facing the Mexicans for the FIFA Under-17 World Cup final.

Although the Golden Eaglets seem favourites owing to their talismanic display throughout the tournament scoring 23 goals so far, Mexico isn’t completely a wash as the reigning champions hope to defend title.

They are familiar rivals as they met at the group stage with Nigeria demolishing the South American side 6-1. Mexico has since recovered from that defeat as it was their only defeat in the tournament.

With the golden Eaglet dominance and skills in quick counter-attack, I was able to come up with a few players who would be todays star from the Nigeria side.

They are as follows from bottom to top:

(3) TAIWO AWONIYI

He replaced injured striker Success Isaac and scored twice on his debut match against Uruguay taking Eaglets to the semi-final. Both goals came as an assist from Kelechi Iheanacho.

(2) MUSA YAHAYA

He has a reputation of tearing down defense as he helps to support the attack. His beautiful display has made him been compared to Barcelona’s Andres Iniesta as he is called “Nigeria’s young iniesta”.

(1) KELECHI IHEANACHO

This guy is the best player so far in the tournament scoring five goals already with six assist.  He is a familiar enemy to the Mexican defense and goal keeper as he scored four times in first clash in the group stage. He is currently being monitored by Arsenal scouts. If he scores today would become the top-scorer in the tournament.
I call them the Three Musketeers.
