Barcelona beats Sevilla 5-4 to lift UEFA Super Cup

Champions league winners Barcelona narrowly escaped Europa cup winners Sevilla in a 5-4 goal sprout to lift the UEFA Super Cup at Tablisi in Georgia on Tuesday night

Sevilla scored the opener just 3 minute into the game through Ever Banega's beautifully taken free-kick but Barcelona talisman Lionel Messi proved he could perform same free-kick-skill the Messi-way as the 27-year-old netted twice in the 7th and 16th minutes.

And just when the game seemed like a game of free kicks, Rafinha let one pass goalie Beto through an assist from Luiz Suarez to make it three.

The game was all Barcelona's when Luiz Suarez scored the forth in the 52nd minute  as a result of a defensive error from Sevilla.

But Sevilla reduced the margin when Jose Antonio Reyes scored in the 57th minute through a cross from Vitolo and the Los Rojiblancos got a penalty as Kevin Gameiro scored from the spot in the 72nd minute.

The resilient Sevilla kept fighting hard as they pressured Barca and scored the equalizer through Yevheniy Konoplyanka in the 81st minute assisted by substitute Ciro Immobile

The match finished 4-4 after normal time as  Barca were dragged into extra-time, but it took the brilliance of Manchester United bound Pedro Rodriguez to score the fifth goal after a rebound from Messi in the 2nd half of extra-time.

Barcelona have now leveled with AC Milan after winning the UEFA Super Cup for the fifth time
