Hull City defender Curtis Davies has
revealed that fans bombarded his twitter account with messages, mentioning the
FA and saying that England manager Roy
Hodgson should pick the 28-year-old because he was the only one who stopped
Liverpool star Luiz Suarez this Season.
Owing the 2014 World Cup draws in
Brazil that saw England drawn with Uruguay in group D, Hull City fans feel
Davies is the right man to stop the Uruguayan(Suarez).
Davies has never been called to the
senior national team before; he only got close as an unused sub in a friendly
against Germany under former manager Fabio Capello where England defeated
Germany.
Davies is confident of his ability
and he is willing to be one of the defenders that would book a seat in the
plane to Brazil in the summer.
“No disrespect to the players there
now, but it is not the era of old with Sol Campbell, Rio Ferdinard, and John
Terry at their peak” Davies told Daily Star
