Real Madrid defender hopefully to be David Moyes' first signing

Real Madrid full back Fabio Coentrao may be set to move to Manchester United as Madrid are willing to part way with the Portuguese for the sum of £12million.

Ceontro, who is out-of-favour at the Bernabue would be happy to start playing more often in order to book a seat on the plane to Brazil in the summer as he has only had four La-Liga start for the Spanish giant this season.

Although efforts to bring the 25-year-old last summer proved abortive, but Manchester United boss David Moyes is hoped to take advantage this term to land Coentrao as long term replacement for 32-year-old Patrice Evra.
